Rules on Valentines!

We all know that for all numbers,
1. Even + Even = Even
2. Even + Odd = Odd + Even = Odd
3. Odd + Odd = Even
Also, from the lesson about charges that we learnt about last week, charges follow certain rules:
1. Positive put near Positive = Negative put near Negative = Repel
2. Negative put near Positive (and vice versa) = Attract
Not to offend those who hate Physics, here's an example from primary school, to do with magnets:
1. North put near North = South put near South = Repel
2. North put near South (and vice versa) = Attract
Now a question for the class (ie. you readers) :
Is there a set of rules that applies to love? Your rules, if you can come up with one, should involve a "boy" and "girl". For example, if boy is x and girl is y (x and y stand for some qualities or the like), then result is so and so.
* To clarify, here's a concrete (and easy to understand) example by me:
1. Handsome boy with Pretty girl = Ugly boy with Not-so-nice-looking girl = Compatible
2. Ugly boy with Pretty girl (and vice versa) = Not compatible
While you readers ponder over the question, here I wish you Happy Valentines Day! ;)
